So woke up this morning and was just sitting here, thought about playing some online poker but that didn’t sound appealing, I needed something to do to start my day. Someone posted some questions on CGTalk about how to model a ”Cola” bottle. Though’t i’d post what I did here.
Here’s the bottle I modeled….

I don’t think they have corkscrew tops though, but I put it in just to see if I could. Got asked how I made those so I made THIS.
So another person(Emil3d) from cgtalk has informed me you can skip right to step 5 of my tutorial if you create a Helix Primitive. I highly recommend doing it that way as you can determine the amount of coils with it much faster.
Then I came across another thread on CGTalk that had a commercial link and it had bottles and grapes growing from a vine(can’t post it here apparently, sorry), it mentioned that they used a lattice to do it on the link and a few other things, it was pretty cool, especially the way the grapes went from green to purple. Anyways, I wanted to try that as well and thought why not try it on this thing. And here’s the result.
Edit: I’m working of figuring out vimeo embeding in wordpress, so until it works, or if it doesn’t work for you here’s the link to the video: VIMEO LINK

With some more work, adding things like shake and maybe a skeleton to animate the wobbling of the bottle as it grows I think it could look pretty cool. Probably need to set up the lattice a little better though.

Other news, i’m working on a project right now with a former coworker, i’ll see if I can post anything here.
Well that’s it for me today. Ciao
A short film by Michael Cawood is progressing nicely. I helped a little on this(Devil), and hope to help some more when my time frees up. I initially started and was just wanting to do animation for it but the little guy struck a cord with me so I ran with it and Mike liked it. I should say if you feel like helping, there are proper methods for helping, check the site.
Here’s a render of the Devil Character I started on. This render is by Sameer Baloch I believe.
Hey, sorry for not being around and missing some of inktober there, i’ll be scanning the ones I did do and getting them on here. For now though, here’s something awesome.
I’ve missed a few Inktobers, I’m going to make it up to the inkers out there tonight.
Missed a couple days there. Whoops.
